The beginning of the semester saw an astounding response from the second year and third year students for the formation of TEAM KANISHK-2013. The selection process of budding Entrepreneurs (Budd-‘E’s) was successfully held by Entrepreneurship Cell of PCCOE.
The procedure to apply for respective vacancies was pretty easy for all the students. We had prepared an online form through which students could submit the form with all details which included the post they want to apply, the reason they are interested in joining Kanishk, qualities worth knowing about them and the contact details. Since three months we have indeed received an astonishing response both from the second and third year students. And a special mention about the E&TC students participation which showed an exponential increase this year. But at the same time we missed a little feminism in the group.
The selection process mainly consisted of an interview in which the student would get the maximum chance to express himself on different topics ranging from hobbies to politics. The interview was conducted by Mr. Anikait Chavan, the student co-ordinator as well as Head of Planning Department jointly with the respective BOD’s of the departments.
We received 35 registrations overall from the students which were then divided into two slots for the selection process. On 19th December, we conducted the round for students belonging to documentation, execution and planning department. On 20th December, the remaining students were interviewed for their posts. On the other hand, as all the BOD’s were also present , it proved to be an interactive session with all the budding E-leaders telling them about the events conducted since the last few years and also inheriting creative ideas from them.
The selection process was conducted in G.D.P.I. room. It started with an introduction about all the BOD’s and E-cell in brief. It followed with the most interesting segment of the entire process-the INTERVIEWS. It would probably be the first time for all the students who gathered there, eager to simply get through the round. Some were nervous, while some were scared thinking what if the interview ends something similar to the Roadies Auditions! On the other hand some were excited to know what questions would be asked. We also had some students who were so cool that they hardly cared about the scenario in the cabin. And never to forget, in spite of all these vivacious and anxious faces, we saw a distinct spark in each of them. A spark, which clearly showed the burning desire in them to be unique, to be different. A spark which pulled them all away from their friends and made them do something different. Some held it high while some hid it timidly.
Amidst all the shy students, we also came across some confident ones who gave us suggestions of the events conducted in Kanishk the previous year. This quality impressed everyone because it’s not about the favourable things for a team like us always. And when students can give us true and honest suggestions, indeed the expectations we see from them gets augmented. So that is where we chose the right people!
So here we proved our motive of gathering the crowd at the right place. A place where they would be flooded with immense opportunities to prove themselves and no doubt, Kanishk would turn them into individuals with exuberance and surplus confidence which probably would lack if they didn’t dare to be different that moment!
During the interview, we also noticed few students who were a little shy to speak, and some of them hesitant to express themselves. But we consist of a team where each one would overcome their weaknesses and surely come up as a confident and successful person in life.
Keeping in mind all the qualities and the experience seen in the individuals, we selected the students on the basis of that one eagerness in each of them which convinced us. The new team of 2013 would be declared soon and the newly formed committee would be displayed on the notice board.
All the best to my Budd-‘E’s and a thumbs up to the entire team of KANISHK for organising such great auditions along with learning and growing each day!
