Structure of Indian Government and Elections 2014 Update

2014 Elections are going on! And almost 27% adult population of the nation is still not aware of the basic structure of their government which is really alarming. It is sad that the subject of CIVIC SCIENCE been taught in 10th grade never comes up individual’s mind

What do you mean by Democracy?

India is known as the world’s largest democracy. Well I’m no Civic’s professor or do not intent to bore you, but let me just define Democracy for those who still don’t know. Democracy is a form of government, where the people choose their representatives who will govern their state (Nation). The key behind success of a democratic republic is the distribution of power. Power is given to every individual to choose a representative among them. This power is really big in true sense. Then why this democracy is failing since decades after the independence?

Expectations from the Leaders

Blaming the system, blaming the politicians, blaming everything else other than yourself is what we Indians are good at. When asked about the system or an individual’s role, they don’t even know the number of states India has! Read the rest of this entry

How to Startup your Business when in College? | [Infographic]

What is a Startup?

According to Wikipedia, “A startup company or startup is a company, a partnership or temporary organization designed to search for a repeatable and scalable business model.”

Another definition by Co-CEO of Warby Parker says, “A startup is a company working to solve a problem where the solution is not obvious and success is not guaranteed.”

For me, a Startup is a company, that is confused about:

  • What its product is.
  • Who its customers are.
  • How to make money.

As soon as it figures out all 3 things, it ceases being a startup and becomes a real business. Except most times, that doesn’t happen.

When does Human enterprise cease to exist as a startup?

The answer is – When one realizes that there is no substitute to Hard Work! (though you could ease it a little by doing Smart Work…) But achieving success is not as easy as it looks..

College life is the duration when you have ample time to make mistakes. Don’t get me wrong, but by making mistakes, I mean, learning from them. So, when you got enough time, you should invest it in experimenting different possibilities to start up your own business. Following infographic will give you an idea that will boost your confidence that you could too startup in your college days:

When will Indians Stop Spitting on Roads?

Campus Times Pune

Driving on Indian roads is always an adventure. I guess we all can agree on that. Even a simple drive from your place to college and back home feels like a game of road rash, with people walking as if “unke baap ka rasta hai” and cars coming in and out, changing lanes as they please. Witnessing all this on the roads makes me think sometimes that India is indeed a FREE (to do whatever you want) COUNTRY. Speaking of Road Rash, I feel even the game is much more disciplined than the Indian roads.

Hold on. There is more. The Indian roads adds another bonus feature four your daily driving on your way to work. Its called “The spit bombs”, or simply just people spitting all their decency out onto the roads waiting to attack you. (This might be a fun feature if ti could…

Release Date: 3rd January 2014 (India)

Director: Martin Scorsese

Ratings: 8.8 / 10 (iMDb)

“Was all this legal? Absolutely not!”
This Dialogue spoken by Leonardo DiCaprio’s character speaks volumes about the basic setting of this delirious film. Based on the book written by infamous stockbroker Jordan Belfort, ’The Wolf Of Wall Street’ is viciously funny and speaks about one of the most turbulent personalities involved in the Wall Street money laundering schemes in the 90’s. The movie is a cinematic glory with all its debauchery, full of life immoral characters with a visionary director at the helm of things! The movie doesn’t speak about the rise of an underdog in the stock market. Instead, it offers an insight into the rise and sudden fall of a drug fuelled, power addicted maniac who worships money and who doesn’t want to be sober even in the most crucial situations!!
